Great knife stays very sharp!

I bought this knife to be a deer knife and I got to use it and it was the only knife I needed stayed very sharp and worked very good got home and cleaned it and looked at the knife and looked to see if it rolled on itself and it didn’t! And was so sharp it just was cutting hairy of my arm! The knife is a very good knife!!

Surprisingly good beater knife

I acquired two of these for light outdoor work and to compare different sharpening techniques.

I am curious about the steel used here. I reprofiled one of the knives and stropped it with Flexcut Gold on leather. After using it to carve and chop through scrap wood, I found it would still shave hair and chop through oranges and other soft fruit with little effort.

My only knocks against it are the slick handle (wrap it, no big deal) and the sheath, which isn't much for retention. Finding or making a replacement wouldn't be difficult.

If the handle on this thing ever breaks, I'm pretty sure I can keep it going. It's a great user knife for about twenty bucks, and the edge holds up fine so far at around 20 degrees per side.

My expectations weren't high for such a knife. I'm pleasantly surprised. At this price, it's no huge loss if I mess the edge up.

I'd buy this again, and I recommend it to my friends who need a budget knife for hard use.

a real winner...

... one helluva outstanding knife. stays sharp. priced right. I really beat this knife and it keeps asks for more! excellent heat treatment is the big secret to the great performance. I would also like to suggest making a partial serrated blade option for this model. I highly recommend you get at least one..
