The MILWAUKEE® M18™ SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer kit delivers the industry’s first interchangeable tank design with no manual pumping. Designed to meet the needs of professional landscape maintenance, the battery-powered backpack sprayer delivers instant, constant and adjustable pressure up to 120 PSI and a 25 ft spray distance. The 5-mode pressure adjustment knob adjusts the pressure between 20 – 120 PSI for a wide range of applications. The M18™ REDLITHIUM™ XC3.0 Battery provides up to 12 tanks of spraying per charge. The sprayer has a dual diaphragm pump for longer pump life and Viton® seals for increased durability against harsh chemicals. The sprayer tank has a wide mouth opening for easier pouring and a strainer that filters debris from getting into the tank. The backpack frame has wide straps for added comfort during extended spraying applications and a handle for convenient transport and storage.

The 4-gallon sprayer is made up of two components – the M18™ SWITCH TANK™ Powered Base and the SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Sprayer Tank Assembly. The Powered Base includes the motor, battery compartment, and REDLINK™ electronics. The interchangeable Tank Assembly includes the pump, hose, and wand. The isolated pump, hose, and wand design allows different tank assemblies to be added for different spraying applications, eliminating cross-chemical contamination. It also allows the tank assembly to be replaced at a lower cost of ownership compared to replacing the entire sprayer. The Powered Base is compatible with the SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Concrete Sprayer (49-16-28CS) and 4-Gallon Water Supply (49-16-28WS) Tank Assemblies. The M18™ SWITCH TANK™ 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayer is part of the M18™ system which is fully compatible with over 175 tools. The kit also includes one M18™ REDLITHIUM™ XC3.0 Battery and an M18™/M12™ Multi-Voltage Charger.

This product is amazing!

Ive been in the spray industry for 40 years. I work at applied aquatics in Florida and spray 35 tanks a day. I was pumping and pumping by hand until my buddy jimmy showed me this! Best purchase of my life! Never will I pump again.

Look for a different sprayer

For the first year or so it worked great then suddenly, like others on these reviews, it started losing pressure when the tank got down to 1 gal left of liquid. Then it started leaking through the nozzle when the trigger valve was closed then the pressure diminished altogether.

Decided to take the trigger handle apart and found that the trigger valve O-ring was swelled and out of place. Moved the O-ring into the proper position and it started working great again but I have had to do this several times. I can't find replacement part numbers for this assembly so not sure how to permanently remedy the situation. Maybe someone from Milwaukee can advise.

Not what I expected from Milwaukee!!

The sprayer arrived on Saturday, it will be going back on Monday.
It has a 4 gallon capacity but when you get down to the last 3/4-1/2 gallon the pump constantly draws looses pressure. It has a flat bottom tank with a pick up to the left side. This needs a small depression at the bottom with baffles. This is a back pack sprayer and the user will most likely be walking around and the fluid will be sloshing around.
I finally had to take it off my back and carry it in my hand at an angle to get the tank almost empty.
This should make my job easier not more difficult and frustrating.

No go when it’s low.

I’m a professional lawn care applicator and was initially impressed with this concept.
One of its major flaws is when you get down to about 1 gallon it stops spraying due to the location of the pickup tube. This is something completely silly the engineers overlooked.
A simple re design would completely solve this issue. Other that the fact it’s heavier than a boat anchor it’s a great concept. Maybe some day they will have a fix for this issue.

Long life with potassium hydroxide degreaser

We run 2 of these units daily, 1x12AH battery lasts our crews 2-3 weeks on a single charge, spraying 2-3 gallons daily, pumps are still going strong after a year, we have noticed the little white "earbud" filters need to be changed every 6 months as they clog due to contamination or dirt, when they plug up the unit will not spray anymore, we thought we blew a pump, that was not the case.

My only gripe is that the want will leak when latched to the backpack, leaving a small puddle behind in the vans, we just toss a nitrile gloves over the top before we pack up.

This unit has saved us "pump up time", our guys can wear this unit while climbing a ladder, no more roping up a pump sprayer with 2gallons of chemical up the side of a building. It offers a better spread of chemical also, much more consistent mist/stream than pump up sprayers.
