I bought this drill about 18 months ago at the start of a two new house build project as I needed an all round drill capable of taking up to 13mm drill bit. I have used it on wood, concrete, brick, metal and plastic and can say it is one of the most reliable and strongest cordless drills I have ever owned. Particularly strong torque from this machine and with the 4Amp batteries supplied its rare for me to be left without power during a days work. One small gripe is that I had to replace the chuck after about 9 moths as it kept sticking when tightening and loosening drill bits. Soaked it in oil whilst using the replacement for a month or two and then tried it again, worked OK for a couple of months and starting sticking again so have discarded it. Overall very happy with drills performance and would not hesitate to recommend.
I am in the Electrical Trade and sometimes have to drill thru 2 or 3 wood supports together.
The first couple of uses I started having issues with the clutch heating up. It seems like it is slipping and a grinding noise. It then does not work until it cools down and that takes a few minutes. Once it cools down it works fine again. I took to the distributor that I purchased it from and he took it into a back room to try it and he came back saying that there was nothing wrong with it and cannot take it back or replace it.
Its been 2 years now since I have had it still has the torque and speed as new but same clutch issues. It definitly has the Torque and battery life it claims.
I don't know if I'm working it to hard or if its a dud off the assembly line.
Purchased this tool (2704) about 6 years ago for use around the farm and has been used on a daily basis. It has been put thru its paces, from drilling concrete for pass-throughs to securing decks with lag and deck screws to fastening carriage bolts for lofting/pole barns. I have even used it for cleaning out the creosote in the outdoor furnace tubes, this my friend is a scaring endeavor. The constant anticipation of the 4” diameter 36” shaft auger hanging up and twisting your wrist 180 degrees. “Have to remember release the trigger”!
By far the best drill I’ve ever owned, the torque can be intimidating when drilling out metal/steel products with ½” shank bits. Will buy another or two here in a couple of days when I get to town, it’s the most go to tool on the farm for production and fasting projects.
Thanks Milwaukee, I have had and having fun with this and all my other Big Red products!
Been waiting for the Lawnmower debut for the coops and other small areas that the big equipment can’t access.
Im an aprentis and have used this drill for over 6 months now and IT worked Great until the Chuck came loose, it still works but i have to push the Chuck inn once in a while.
