3/8" pipe are their kryptonite!

I work mainly with 3/8" pipe on fire suppression systems. I have found that they do not grip the pipe as good as I would have expected. I am continuing to use brand-x. The adjustment button also sticks out a lot getting into the way.

On the good side they grip nuts, bolts, and anything else that is not round extremely well. Also, I really like the exposed handle ends for reaming and knockouts.

great pliers for my use

these pliers have been in my tool box for a few years and have used them for a wide variety of tasks. i am totally happy with them and would buy them again. serves me as a multi purpose pliers. used them a lot in plumbing or when i needed to break an exposed nut lose quickly. The red grips seem to be able to take a lot of abuse and are sturdy. This is my go too pair of pliers for sure.

Not sure why the other negative reviews but like any tool, they all have a purpose and no the one tool can do it all. Thats why there is a need for a "tool box".
